My Amazing Mum

A poem written by Mary Wood
as she sat by Ruth's bedside in her final hours

As I slowly watched you go
After you always helped me grow
Although I was filled with sadness
I was also full of gladness
For the wonderful life you lived
Full of love and happiness
For your vivid imagination
And all the creations that you made
For everything you taught us
And your absolute No Nonsense

Your support was never ending
Your talent was second to none
But as you recently told me
"Talents come in many ways
Mine can just be seen".

So take that love and talent
Whatever it may be
And go live a life like Ruth did
Full of many different things
With tender hearted giving
And creativity
Encourage those around you
With nurture, faith and love
Just like my amazing Mum did
